Description

The Laboratory of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering at EPSEVG belongs to the industrial sector of machining and to the complementary and auxiliary sectors of engineering, electricity, electronics, and laser cutting.

The laboratory focuses on the design and manufacturing of technological objects intended to support teaching and research, mainly at UPC, but also at other cultural and scientific institutions across the European Union and worldwide.

This laboratory also offers a 3D printing service. Additive manufacturing technologies build objects by adding layers of material based on a 3D geometry. Serial production through 3D printing reduces the time to market for products, eliminates the need to invest in manufacturing tools, facilitates the creation of functional designs regardless of their geometry, enables the design of complex components, and allows for constant design review and updates.

At the UPC Vilanova Campus infrastructure, we work with Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). These technologies can be used to manufacture prototypes, tooling, pre-series, or even final parts, as they are highly functional.
