The Analysis Unit is a service that brings together the chemical analysis instruments available to the Barcelona School of Agri-Food and Biosystems Engineering (EEABB). Its main purpose is to support teaching and research activities and technology transfer, in public institutions or associated with the activities of private companies.
In addition to carrying out chemical analyses of agricultural samples (food, plants, soil, water, environment, etc.), it also advises and provides technical support in its field of action. Possible analyses range from metals (such as Cu, Cd and Pb) to organic molecules (e.g. sugars, polyphenols and organic acids) and generic parameters such as organic carbon.
The Analysis Unit participates in the Inter2000 program, the proficiency testing circuit for laboratories in the agrifood sector, organized by the Government of Catalonia’s Agrifood Laboratory.
