House of Creation and Innovation (MaCI)
The House of Creation and Innovation (MaCI) offers original transdisciplinary projects in research-experimentation, research-creation and research-action in the arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences and health. Combining creation and innovation, it takes on the major human and societal challenges of the 21st century.
Mindful of humanist values and social cohesion, the House of Creation and Innovation sets itself the goals of:
- Studying the human and societal challenges of innovation and creation, in areas such as energy, the environment, health, digital technology or even culture
- Inventing new languages and new practices, thanks to the power of imagination, culture, and the arts
- Hybridizing experimentation methods and tools platforms, which are key instruments of the dynamics of social and organizational innovation, by relying on the research community of the University Grenoble Alpes, applying interdisciplinarity, as it has for many years now.
The House of Creation and Innovation aims to promote projects involving socioeconomic and sociocultural actors, scientists, artists, and students. In one central location on the Grenoble Alpes campus, the MaCI brings together several research and teaching structures (labs, Faculties, Schools) in equipped and adjustable spaces. The rooms and platforms of the MaCI are complementary and can therefore be combined according to the projects and needs.
It gathers three federative research structures (SFR): the SFR Creation (process, practices and production), the SFR Innovacs (innovation, knowledge and society), and the SFR Health and Society.
