Equipment

The DOMUS platform is equipped with sensors and actuators type of automation that meet the KNX standard. KNX is also used as bus interoperability to unite all the disparate protocols used in the apartment (RFID readers, X2D sensors, UPnP devices, ZigBee appliances, DMX lighting system…). In addition, information exchange with the outside world (remote control, energy optimization, health care services…) is managed using an OSGi gateway.

DOMUS has a diverse set of sensors and effectors that are renewed and completed on a project basis. Major devices are off-the-shelf products, to match in the most realistic way, what can be done with today's technology.

  • A set of sensors and actuators for lighting control (switching and dimming), rolling shutters, motorized curtains, interior blinds, and other equipment plugged into an electrical outlet (VMC, coffee, …)
  • Occupancy and luminosity sensors
  • Opening detectors
  • A power quality analyser
  • Two water meters (hot and cold)
  • Sets of RFID readers and antennas
  • Sound broadcasting equipment
  • A humidity and CO2 sensor

Description

Situated in UGA's House of creation and innovation (MaCI), the Domus platform is a set of spaces dedicated to the experimental study of the digital and human ecosystem.

Through various methods, particularly sensitive to ethics, agility and sustainability, the spaces of this platform are a place of multidisciplinary experiences, to investigate digital innovations (IoT, robotics, automatic processing of languages, data sciences, human-machine interaction, health, silver economy, arts and sciences...) and human behaviour (linguistics, psychology, educational sciences ...), and creating a synergy, around the human subject, between researchers, students trained in research, and industrial and societal stakeholders.

In addition to loaning experimental equipment, this platform is available in several specific areas:

  • An anechoic room of 17 m&sup2, dedicated to high quality acoustic signals (echoic, to preserve the naturalness of the subjects' immersion)
  • A large modular platform of 63 m&sup2
  • An 80 m&sup2 apartment, a real-life living space

A technical control unit made up of management hardware and software, allows the capture of the data produced and the control of the complete experiments in the spaces dedicated to the DOMUS platform.
