Description

As a technology and transfer centre, the Additive Manufacturing Centre (AMC) links specialist areas from the areas of additive manufacturing and digital transformation and enables knowledge transfer from cutting-edge research to companies and teachers. Completion at the end of 2022.

The aim of the new AMC building is to create a suitable environment for the utilization of current research results by transferring them to industry and teaching. For this purpose, from January 2023, the activities and expertise of TU Darmstadt in the field of additive manufacturing and the digital transformation of mechanical engineering will be bundled and made available through training courses and workshops for manufacturing companies, development and manufacturing service providers and teachers. Thanks to the holistic mapping of the additive process chain, interdisciplinary questions in particular can be dealt with and the needs of the industry can be answered in a targeted manner.

In this way, the TU Darmstadt actively contributes to increasing the international competitiveness of German vehicle, mechanical and plant engineering. In particular, regional SMEs and educational institutions are addressed and people are placed in the foreground of knowledge transfer. In this way, results can not only be adopted, but also adapted and further developed in the company.
