Tec Labs Innovation Center

Offering main image Tec Labs - Innovation Center is the hub for all scientific and technological-based entrepreneurship initiatives of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. It takes on two main missions: the business Incubator, which comprises in its portfolio around 40 early-stage startups and spin-offs across health and wellness, urban mobility and sustainability, agri-food industry and sea, and emerging technology areas. It offers support on business development and recruitment and gives access to a pool of mentors, investors and industry partners; the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Area, which aims to instill an entrepreneurial and value-creation mindset among its teachers, researchers, and students. To do so, the ScienceIN²Business® methodology was created, to encourage and support the economic valorization of scientific and technological knowledge in higher education institutions and research centers. The methodology is based on annual cycles so that it can be consolidated and disseminated exponentially, increasing its target audience each year. It is divided into three moments, Learning, Selection, Evolution, that include Entrepreneurship and Innovation classes, Training programs, networking events and constant support on technology transfer areas, from spin-off creation to licensing deals.
