Unite! Widening Training @ULisboa - Accelerate your ERC Pathway

This 3-day in-person training is designed for early-career researchers ready to take the next step towards a successful European Research Council (ERC) application. With a strong focus on practical preparation and strategy, the training revolves around one key question: how can you turn your research potential into a competitive ERC proposal ?

What you’ll gain
  • A clear understanding of ERC funding schemes and evaluation criteria
  • Insight into the review process and what evaluators are looking for
  • Practical guidance on how to build a strong academic CV aligned with ERC expectations
  • Hands-on training in pitching your scientific idea convincingly
  • Inspiration from ERC grantees sharing their personal journeys and strategies
  • Feedback from experienced trainers, including mock interview elements

Participants will also engage in networking moments, including a social dinner, and visit the Living Labs at Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), exploring real-world innovation environments. The training will feature international Unite! trainers alongside experts from non-academic partners.

Format : 3-day in-person training, combining presentations, interactive workshops, a study visit, and networking moments.

Who should apply ? 

Early-career researchers (PhD holders, postdocs and assistant professors) interested in applying for a competitive ERC application, focusing on key preparation steps and strategic positioning.

  • Number of available slots for Wrocław Tech participants: 6
  • Number of available slots for each other  Unite! universities : 1 per non-Widening  Unite! university
  • Number of available slots for other Widening university : 4

Participation & costs:
  • Participation is free of charge. Travel and accommodation are covered for participants from WrocławTech, following Unite! Widening rules and will be confirmed to selected participants. For other participants, travels costs can be covered via other schemes such as Erasmus+.

Application procedure : 

  • Deadline for applications will be May 31st.
  • All applicants will receive information about the status of their application by June 3rd.
