"Thermally comfortable and healthy indoor conditions – the challenges of today's built environment” Winter School
This course is aimed at students who have finished at least one year of a bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or fields related to civil engineering, architecture, environmental engineering, HVAC, or renewable energy.
Course content:
This winter school explores the principles of creating a healthy building environment and develop hands-on skills in measuring and analyzing indoor microclimates. During the workshops, students will learn to evaluate and enhance thermal comfort and indoor conditions. This interactive program integrates practical measurement techniques, data analysis, and collaborative teamwork, offering you a comprehensive understanding of indoor comfort and environmental quality. Discover our laboratories, including the climate chamber, mechanical ventilation lab, and relax in our green microclimate lab designed for windowless interiors. The activities will include experimental work and the analysis of how indoor conditions influences human wellbeing and individual thermal sensations. Participants will prepare a report containing the measurement results, analyses, and conclusions, which will allow them to gain a holistic understanding of the topic.
Course Objectives:
- To acquire competences in the measurement, data analysis, and assessment of thermal comfort conditions and selected parameters of indoor microclimate.
- To learn statistical analysis of measurement data and the determination of thermal comfort indices.
This winter school is conducted in English.
In accordance with §4 point 5 of the Recruitment Regulations, candidates are assessed on the basis of the criteria specified in the Recruitment Form.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.
Participation in the training is free of charge. Qualified participants will be able to receive funding for travel, subsistence and accommodation costs during the training after the training has taken place. The lump sum rates have been specified in the Beneficiary's Handbook.
