Computer Aided Design for SoCs (Lecture, Exercise and Lab)
CAD4SoC (Computer Aided Design for System on chips) is a master level course offered by TU Darmstadt. It is a completely digitalized course, meaning, that no presence in a lecture hall of TUDa is required, even the two half day integrated labs can be remotely done.
Learning objectives / Learning Outcomes:
A student is, after successful completion of this module, able to understand
• The most important design and verification abstractions as well as the design flow for the design of integrated electronic systems,
• Selected algorithms for optimization, simulation and solving of design tasks,
• Advanced methods for the design and simulation of analog integrated circuits in modern CMOS technologies,
• Advanced concepts of hardware description languages and their concepts (Verilog, VHDL, Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, System-Verilog)
Please contact us by email (Klaus.Hofmann@ies.tu-darmstadt.de). The course is fully digitalized, and can therefore be started any time. There will be a written exam by about mid-end of Feb 2026, which is physically done in Darmstadt, but participation remotely is possible. Students should contact their home university in advance to obtain information about the possible recognition of Credit Points for the course.
