ATELIER - Co-design practices for social impact and inclusion

Discover how co-design can become a powerful driver of social inclusion and social impact.

This course equips students, practitioners, and professionals with the mindset, methods, and practical tools needed to design and facilitate collaborative processes in contexts of vulnerability and community development. Through a transdisciplinary approach that combines design, participatory research, and social innovation, you will learn how to frame complex challenges, engage diverse stakeholders, and co-design inclusive initiatives that generate meaningful social impact.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Apply co-design methods to address real-world social challenges.
- Facilitate collaborative and participatory design processes.
- Analyse complex social contexts and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Prototype, test, and refine inclusive solutions.
- Critically reflect on your professional role and contribute to sustainable, community-driven innovation.

The MOOC is structured into nine units that can be explored flexibly, allowing learners to follow the learning path that best matches their interests, needs, and educational goals. Each unit concludes with a multiple-choice quiz designed to support learning and self-assessment. The full course requires approximately 50 hours of study. Learners who successfully complete the course will earn an Open Badge.

This MOOC has been developed within the framework of the European project "ATELIER – innovATive Education for sociaL Inclusion via co-dEsign pRactices", co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme.
