MicroMaster Façades Programmes: Open Face
Façade technology has advanced rapidly in recent decades and has become a key component of the modern building process. As building envelopes grow increasingly complex, façades now play a critical role not only in aesthetics but also in performance, sustainability, and user comfort. This course will help you understand the fundamental technology behind façade design and construction and the impact of the various components in facilitating the construction of sustainable, energy-efficient, aesthetic and modern buildings.
This programme offers modular, self-paced online courses covering façade systems, performance requirements, and design principles from fundamentals to advanced applications. Academic knowledge is combined with practical case studies, exercises, and assessments to bridge theory and professional practice. Sustainability, circularity, and low-carbon construction are core themes throughout the programme.
This course has been designed by the founding members of TU Delft’s Architectural Façades & Products Research Group, in association with the European Façade Network, which comprises 10 European institutions with façade education programmes.
*OpenFace.world is an open MicroMaster educational programme focused on façade design and engineering. This programme is led by TU Darmstadt, TU Delft, and EURAC Research within an Erasmus+ framework.
